Philosophical basis of Education Policy of Bangladesh Sarwar Kamal Abstract: The National Education Policy formulated by the Committee led by Professor Kabir Chowdhury, is an elaborated action plan that was stemmed from guiding values or philosophical basis. To understand the pattern of education policy, it’s feasibility and implications, it is necessary to know philosophical basis and guiding values of the policy. Preliminaries For various reasons, social fabric in Bangladesh is subtle, as it transforms keeping pace with complex fusion of defining factors, invisibly stems from historical background as well as global influence. Difference between Traditional epistemology and Contemporary epistemology Epistemology is a branch of philosophy which deals with the source, means and limit of the knowledge. The prime concern of epistemology is found in Plato’s dialogue Theateatus, where Plato exposited a definition of knowledge. That justified true belief is knowledge, is not a definition on which Plato had faith, justified by sufficient reasons.
